Growing up, Leah Virsik loved to read and so began her interest in line. Later she learned how to make books themselves and her interest in their production has never waned. Folding and sewing sections of a book involves a fair amount of repetition. This calming act is a nice balance to other processes that involve a different type of thinking and problem solving.
Leah Virsik looks forward to displaying Above and Below on a wide wall allowing it to take up its full seven feet width. More a linear painting than an actual book, the luxury of negative space will give a greater presence to the work. Purchase includes plastic clips for display.
