Swiss born artist Eli Geiser shows two distinctively different groups of new works. The “language pictures” are strictly geometrical compositions with visual words written in an originally developed color-alphabet. These precise conceptual paintings contrast sharply with Geiser’s second group of new work — carefully crafted assemblages of witty and evocative found objects. Although the two groups speak in different languages the artist’s tone consistently reveals a playful joy in collecting both words and materials.
Eli Geiser was born and raised in Switzerland and has lived in San Francisco since 2007. Eli was originally trained as a ceramics painter before receiving her degree in Zurich as a teacher of handicraft and textile works. Her work has shown in galleries throughout Europe and the USA.
