The artists in ‘Time After Time’ explore authenticity verified by time’s inclusion and influence. The works present an archeology of fragile embodiments, embedded connections, and survivorship. Marks, stains, fissures, cryptic outlines, and unpredictable shapes accrue and relate through use and chance, documenting the passages of time. Layered surfaces give way and change, triggering memories of somatic awareness, perception, and experience.
Jo Ann Biagini’s additive and subtractive process reveals singular moments within an immersive, mixed-media experience. She combines found book pages and painting in abstracted and improvisational imagery that enfolds knowledge in the chaotic and unpredictable forces of nature.
PK Frizzell collages found objects, photographs, and ephemera to recollect an unknown past from the perspective of chance. As artist-detective, Frizzel sorts through the evidence to make a poetic response to the flood of false media information that manipulates, obscures, and divides.
Kathleen King gathers detritus from city streets, natural objects collected over years of adventuring, along with items culled from her domestic environment. As in a derivé, the psychogeographic game of wandering without purpose or destination, King’s willfully marginal sets of objects are arranged in meandering sequences.
