On the gallery floor sits, Heart of Glass, a square wood platform supporting a circle of found glass bottles, vases and jars. The vessels are well-known objects that evoke an uncanny presence. Perhaps they speak of the desire to be filled, and simultaneously, of something that has gone and their emptiness evokes that loss. Inspired by street-corner shrines that commemorate dead loved ones, this sculpture centers objects and their display, bringing awareness to the implications of presentation.
