CAITY SALAMANCA: CON-NEC-TIV-I-TY
June 6 – July 12, 2025
Artists’ Reception: Saturday, June 7, 3 – 5 pm
Oakland Art Murmur / First Friday: June 6, July 4, 5 – 9 pm
Caity Salamanca uses bold color and texture applied with spatulas and palette knives to create her latest, large-scale installation. Salamanca’s ambitious 45-foot work will transform the gallery space through chromatic expressions and dynamic textural elements that invite viewers to experience art as a communal force. Using acrylic paint and various other media, Salamanca has created ten layered pieces that interconnect. The work speaks to the gift of collaboration and shared creativity as each piece serves as a current where artistic desire can flow freely. Salamanca leans into the idea of creating work that is impossible to fully view in one glance. con•nec•tiv•i•ty marks a significant evolution in Salamanca’s practice, demonstrating her willingness to embrace ambitious scale and conceptual complexity while maintaining her signature palette and textural richness.
