In Garden, Oakland artist Terry Dunn presents his new work, three-dimensional wall pieces that are inspired by the vegetable matter that he tries to keep alive in and around his abode. Dunn is an accomplished painter and he thinks of these works as These 3D drawings. Individual carved and painted elements are assembled and evolved into whimsical and evocative concoctions, suggestive perhaps of undersea gardens or vivid alien landscapes.
Terry Dunn was born in Portland, Oregon. He earned his BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 1982. He has worked as a paramedic as well as in social services. His worked has been shown in the Bay Area, Pacific Northwest and New York. This is his fifth show at Mercury 20 Gallery.
